West Group awarded additional funding for its CMR Technology by the Research Council of Norway

West Drilling Products receives DEMO 2000 support to build a pilot of the CMR Automated Drill Floor (ADF)

The ADF is a vital part of the CMR Technology that earlier has received funding from DEMO 2000. The ADF Technology and CMR / CDU Technology will be demonstrated through the construction of a full scale pilot rig at Ullandhaug. The pilot project will start in 2013 and be completed early 2015.

DEMO 2000 has today granted 19 new projects for qualifying and piloting of technology that will help reduce costs, improve efficiency and performance on the Norwegian shelf.

- It is very pleasent to see that the number of applications have increased since last application round, and that the quality of the applications in general is high, says the DEMO 2000 board chairman Svein Bredahl.

- This gives us hope that we over the coming years will see new major Norwegian technological winners getting establish in the market, as we have seen it through the DEMO 2000 programme since it was established in 1999.

The projects will help to make the Norwegian Continental Shelf more competitive, as well as additional security. The support from DEMO 2000 will also help to qualify advanced Norwegian technology for world markets.
