Visit from international market delegation
21 INTSOK advisors got a sneak-peak of WeST Groups robotized drilling rig.
In August, INTSOK - Norwegian Oil and Gas Partners, held International Days where “opportunities in the global market” was on the agenda.
For the event, most of INTSOK`s regional directors and advisors from international offices had gathered in Stavanger.
The delegates from INTSOK, whose job it is to promote Norwegian technology and companies in international markets, got at guided tour of WeST`s newly erected drilling rig.
One of them was Håkon Skretting, regional director for Arctic, Australia, Azerbaijan, Canada, China, Russia and Kazakhstan. Mr. Skretting has vast leadership experience from offshore drilling companies, and has been following WeST Group`s progress closely.
- I thought it would be a pity if our advisors didn’t get to see this. The CMR rig is a technology breakthrough they need to know about. The focus for offshore drilling has historically had a focus on safety. This rig combines the HSE-focus with cost reduction. We in INTSOK see a great potential for the Continuous Motion Ring in 2017, 2018 and 2019, says Skretting.
WeST`s Continuous Motion Rig makes it possible to run connected drill pipe and casing continuously and drill continuously while maintaining full circulation and automated drill floor operations. This represents a massive reduction in drilling costs. Operators and drilling companies will be able to reduce 40-45 % of costs associated with drilling.
- We are very pleased with INTSOK`s visit. In fact, you can say we had 21 ambassadors visiting our test rig. We are soon ready for our market launch, so this was a good timing for us, Explains WeST CEO, Odd B. SKjærseth.
